We are looking for someone who is passionate about local food and excited about building a more vibrant and sustainable Eastern Shore.

Must be available to work between the hours of 8am and 6pm, weekends required

Weekends required, 35hrs/week

Basic Job Requirements

• Engage with and understand our customers needs
• Educating customers on buying local, seasonality and availability of products
• Perform many different tasks during each shift
• Meet store operating policies and standards, including providing quality beverages and food products, cash handling and store safety and security
• Prepare food and beverages to standard recipes
• Stocking shelves and recording inventory
• Washing dishes, cleaning tables, sweeping, mopping, cleaning bathrooms etc.
• Making sure produce displays are well stocked and visually attractive
• Sorting garbage, recycling and compost

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Ability to learn quickly
• Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions and request clarification when needed
• Knowledge of, or interest in learning about local agriculture and seasonality of local food
• Ability to work as part of a team
• Previous retail, barista and/or kitchen experience and up to date Food Safety Certificate considered an asset
• Must be able to lift 50lb (boxes of potatoes, bags of corn etc.)
