Our family-run business has a small team of amazing members that work collectively to maintain a friendly, clean and welcoming environment for the local community. We, TEAM Bullet take pride in our 23+ year coffee shop and love what we do.
We are currently seeking a friendly, proactive, hard-working, and experienced Barista to join our team in a PERMANENT casual part-time position that may turn into full-time in the fall. We are looking for Applicants with a flexible schedule and be available to work 2-4+ shifts a week (including weekends) approximately 15hrs+ /week to start. However, hours will vary depending on TEAM/ in shop requirements. Barista experience is required to fill this position.
A few things to think about before applying:
Are you an early riser? Not all our shifts are super early, but some are and they require someone to execute our morning routine with ease. Can you be on your feet for long stretches of time? This is a coffee/ ice cream shop and we are constantly moving to provide the best and most efficient customer service. Are you dependable? Can you work as a team player and independently?
This position isn't just about making a great latte, we work collectively as a team and share daily/ weekly operational duties.
Job Description:
This Barista position is responsible for the following store operations, service, product & training:
- must comply with The City of Calgary Covid Bylaws when they are implemented. Supporting individual 'Freedom of Choice', TEAM Bullet are fully vaccinated.
- provide outstanding, very friendly, kind and outgoing customer service.
- be a Team player, dedicated and always practice respect.
- cash is accepted as a form of payment from our customers in store, therefore you must be comfortable with cash handling.
- proficient at preforming all POS duties.
- execute all front and back of shop functions such as coffee making and in house baking, as well as food preparations.
- must be comfortable with baking and be willing to learn The Bullet practices.
- follow all opening and closing procedures thoroughly.
- perform thorough cleaning duties.
- maintain a tidy, well stocked shop.
- help to maintain food and beverage inventory levels.
- provide outstanding customer service.
- ensure the Bullet food and beverage recipes are maintained.
- help team members maintain the highest standards of cleanliness in the front and back of shop.
- employee discounts on The Bullet food & beverages.
- customer tips shouldn’t be expected, as it’s a true bonus and says a lot about those providing customer service, but they are 100% for the Barista(s) and shared between the TEAM members working the same shift.
Candidate qualifications for this position:
- must be able to work weekday mornings or afternoon shifts as well as weekends. Our operating hours are from 7:30am-3:30pm, seven days a week and closed most Statutory Holidays. However, shifts may start as early as 5:45am and stay as late as 5pm.
- must be friendly and outgoing with our loyal local patrons.
- shall be well organized, detailed-oriented and able to multi-task.
- must have effective problem solving skills and decision making abilities.
- must be able to remain in a stationary position during majority of your shift.
- routinely moves equipment weighing up to 30lbs.
- must have excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
- must have fun and truly enjoy your Barista position or please apply elsewhere (simply put, 'Life is too short' not to enjoy what you do).
