Hyatt Regency Vancouver is seeking a dedicated; customer service oriented Barista (Part-time) to join the Starbucks Team.
This position will provide service in the Starbucks located in the lobby of the hotel.
This position is responsible for fulfilling guest orders; preparing beverages in accordance with menu standards and provide a welcoming and clean environment for guests. This is a fast-paced position with constant customer interaction and cash handling. This person must have exceptional communication skills as well as superior guest service abilities.
Interested applicants MUST be available to work various shifts including weekends and holidays. Shifts could either be opening shifts which start at 5:30am on weekdays or 6:30am on weekends and/or closing shifts until 7pm.
Starting wage for the Barista position is $18.98 per hour, after 6 months, wage increases to $22.14 per hour and after 1 year, wage increases to $25.30 per hour.

Visa Requirements: Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization.

Qualifications
- Must have a true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a busy and fast paced environment
- Must have an open and flexible availability to work various shifts which would also include weekends and holidays (opening shifts would start at 5:30am weekdays and 6:30am on weekends and closing shifts end at 7pm)
- Must have Food Safe certificate
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time
- Must remain positive at all times
- Must be an excellent team player and able to work with a diverse group of individuals
- Must remain professional at all times
- Must have previous customer service experience
- Previous cash handling experience preferred
- Must possess good upselling skills
- Must have excellent and refined communication skills
- Previous Starbucks experience is not a requirement but would be considered an asset
- Previous coffee shop experience is an asset
- Knowledge of a second language is an asset
Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to):
- Constant standing throughout shift
- Frequent walking throughout the shift
- Occasional kneeling, pushing, pulling and lifting (up to 30lbs)
- Occasional ascending or descending stairs and ramps
- Must be capable of performing repetitious duties
