Primary purpose and function of position:
Reporting directly to the Brewing First Line Manager, you will be part of the multi-skilled team that will be responsible for achieving the weekly plans in Brewing while meeting all quality and efficiency targets. All tasks must be performed to maintain the highest level of product quality, sanitation and housekeeping standards. The Brewing Operator is responsible for the entire brewing process from intake of raw materials to production of bright beer for release to packaging.
This job description and the job title Brewing Operator Technician is not necessarily descriptive of all duties and does not restrict flexibility. You may be required, from time to time, to carry out tasks in addition to or instead of your normal duties, either for the Company or for AB InBev, provided that they are reasonable and within your capabilities.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Deployment of new and existing operating practices across the department
- Operate automated and manual processes in the area of responsibility.
- Obtain and perform the required analysis on samples of beer, ancillary products, raw materials and chemicals in line with ABI Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and One Point Lessons (OPLs).
- Interpret, assess, record, challenge and report the results to sustainably improve KPIs.
- Undertake all hygiene and 5S tasks as required by the role, and ensure standards are maintained
- Manage the materials to ensure all consumed to required specification levels.
- Support in creating and updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and One Point Lessons (OPLs)
- Contribute to departmental Improvement Task Force (ITF) initiatives
- Attend and participate in daily meetings as a key team member
- Comply with all statutory and legal requirements and with appropriate packaging, quality and food/feed hygiene safety regulations as defined by policy or legislation e.g. HACCP
- Comply with all Safety, Health & Environment requirements
- Ensure that internal and external customers are serviced in an efficient manner to the standard specified e.g. right quantity / right time
- Undertake activities to support the department in achieving KPI targets
- Undertake activities to support VPO compliance and sustainability
- Undertake training for new skills and tasks as requested by Management
- Undertake any Brewing related task, as directed by management
- Comply with all documentation and transactions required to operate and improve performance in the department
- Perform Brewing operator duties in the movement of product through the brewing process in accordance to company policies
- Ensure safe systems of work and safe working practices are maintained and adhered to
- Ensure that correct stock rotation is adhered to
- Remove waste and recycle in accordance to the Site Environmental policy
- Aid the Technical Services department in fault finding and diagnosis on Brewing plant

The successful candidate needs to have demonstrated good team working skills, initiative and a flexible approach to work, as well as the skills and competence to progress further within the business.
Significantly high levels of operational flexibility, which could include working in all departments within Brewing, will be required to support these objectives.
All applicants should be able to demonstrate the following:
Education:
- Educated to at least A level standard (or equivalent) in an appropriate science discipline, and has current operational experience.
- Competence to progress via further brewing study and examinations – business requirement
Experience:
- High levels of situational PC and fault finding skills of automated systems
- Good communication skills with high levels of team working, taking pride in the work they are doing
- Strong organizational skills with a structured and systematic approach, adhering to deadlines, able to work on own initiative and prioritize workload effectively
- Positive “can do” attitude
- Committed to a high performance and CI environment
- Support a “Learning Organisation” environment
- Ability to make quick fact based decisions to achieve the output and quality requirements
- Good numeracy, literacy and verbal communication skills
- The working pattern is a 12 hour day and night system, four on four off, 42 hour week.
