Role Proposition:

Do you enjoy being out doors living an active lifestyle? At Sun Peaks we have it all, Mountain Biking, Hiking, Golfing, nearby lakes and so much more. We are looking to hire a Barista to join our Food & Beverage team for the upcoming summer. Are you organized and have excellent attention to detail? As the Café Soleil Barista, you should be physically fit and able to multitask. Our Food & Beverage department is a high volume and quick turn over café; therefore, you will need to perform well under pressure. Physical Requirement:

Light, work activities involve handling loads of 5 kg but less than 10 kg; Predominately in an indoor setting.

Accountabilities:

• Greet and welcome guests
• Be a Sun Peaks Resort brand ambassador and share your knowledge of the Sun Peaks community and surrounding areas with guests
• Assuring stocking of front end showcases and coolers
• Communicate with kitchen personnel regarding re-stocking of food items
• Create and communicate a list with manager regarding items needing to be ordered
• Make food and beverage suggestions and try to upsell
• Demonstrate a thorough understanding of all menu offerings and how they are prepared
• Preparing orders for front-end items, including but not limited to creating specialty coffee, espresso, or food items to order
• Ensure the satisfaction of customers by predicting their needs and doing everything to make their stay in our establishment is fantastic
• Ensure accuracy when processing the customers transaction, handling cash and processing payments
• Responsible for cleanliness of the restaurant and café as per cleaning schedule
• Accurately and reliably perform closing duties and reconcile cash with total sales
• Adhere to grooming and appearance standards consistently
• Be knowledgeable about products and services available at the resort
• Fill in at other Food and Beverage outlets as needed

Ideal Candidate:

• Accurate cash handling experience
• Excellent knowledge of café service
• Experience in a high-volume atmosphere
• Food Safe certificate an asset
• Serving it Right certification is an asset
• Positive attitude and ability to work in a team environment
• Ability to walk, bend and stand for extended periods of time
