ROLE PROFILE

PURPOSE
Working as part of our stock team is a challenging and varied role. This role is essential for the smooth operation of the venue.
During Service:
As a Barback, you will be supporting the bar team and ensuring that they have everything they need during service to keep the bar operation running smoothly and efficiently: clean glasses, enough garnishes, liquor, beer and spirits, ice cubes, etc. You will be responsible for keeping the service area clean & tidy as well as running the stock rooms & cold-stores to restock whatever’s running low. You will also be responsible for changing kegs.
Scheduled Deliveries:
This role will also require you to support the wider stock team on delivery days. Responsibilities on these days include splitting deliveries across the site to ensure all areas of the venue have sufficient stock levels, moving kegs & stocking the cold stores.
You will report directly to the bar manager, stock manager and/or stock supervisor on duty and during your shift you must fulfil your role and ensure you are presenting a positive image of the event by conducting yourself in a professional manner at all times.
Due to the nature of the work, potential candidates must have great physical stamina, great time-keeping skills, a ‘can-do attitude’ and the ability to work under pressure. The hours are flexible, but can also be demanding.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- You will be supporting the bartenders to provide excellent and efficient service for customers and may be required to take payments from time to time.
- You will prepare fruit & garnishes for drinks, distribute cups, straws, napkins and other consumables
- You will restock the bar as, and when, required
- You will ensure each service station is kept clean, tidy and in good working order
- You will manage the glasswasher & ensure all dirty glasses are cleaned and put away
- You will change beer & cocktail kegs as and when required
- Ensure that your work area is kept tidy and organised
- Work within and enforce Operations Manual / Health & Safety Policy. This includes adhering to strict PPE guidelines.
- Support the wider stock team on delivery days: large amounts of stock movement & manual handling
- Stamina to work long hours in fast paced, busy environment

ABOUT THE EVENT
Between the Bridges is a joint venture between Peppermint Events & Marcus Weedon. We are returning to the Southbank in April 2023.
Curated by the team behind Winterville, Between the Bridges will feature a unique mix of London’s finest foods and bars. The event will also have content from local promoters, artists and creative, two venues programmed with a mix of DJs, cabaret, and live music.
Live event dates – 27th April 2023 – 23rd December 2023
Open – 7 days a week. Weekend work expected throughout.
The event is licensed for a capacity of 2000.

Salary: £11.95 per hour
