Are you enthusiastic and committed to supporting adolescents and their families who might be experiencing significant stressors or crises?
The No Wrong Door™ Model is part of Surrey’s new services for adolescents and we are looking for committed and enthusiastic practitioners to join our multi-agency team as Hub Workers.
This is a very rewarding, yet challenging position, where you will be a meaningful person in a child’s life. You will act as a key worker, becoming a positive and reliable role model for young people who have high levels of vulnerability or risk, always having an eye to their long-term outcomes as well as meeting their immediate or short-term needs.
You will work in the front-line of our No Wrong Door Hub, which is based within our registered children’s home. Along with the residential duties you will also provide outreach services and intensive support for families experiencing crisis. At the heart of our service are effective relationships and restorative approaches with children and families; you will work with young people in the children’s home, in the community and in their own home to support them with being safe, restoring and maintaining relationships, building on their talents and aspirations, and helping them engage with education, health and well-being resources.
You will be someone who can build relationships with young people, especially those who may be the hardest to reach, or whose needs are not well-served by current services. When working in the children’s home you will contribute to the day-to-day care of young people and the running of a home, ensuring quality care is provided in accordance with standards.
In return for your expertise, commitment and experience we will enable your ongoing learning and development through a culture of high support and high challenge. You will gain access to a range of learning and development activities including Restorative Approaches, Motivational Interviewing and Contextual Safeguarding, as well as the opportunity to obtain a Level 3 Diploma for Residential Care (if not already held).
