Pay: £16.36 per hour
Contract Type: Bank/Zero Hours

We are a specialised acute hospital with 56 beds, focusing on Colorectal, Urology, Orthopaedics, Men’s Health, and Women’s Health. Role Summary
As a Healthcare Assistant at King Edward VII Hospital, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the well-being and comfort of our patients during the night shift. Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing direct patient care and assistance under the supervision of registered nurses
- Monitoring and recording patients’ vital signs to ensure their safety and well-being
- Assisting patients with their mobility, personal hygiene, and other activities of daily living
- Offering emotional support and companionship to patients during the night hour
- Maintaining a safe and hygienic environment for patients and staff by adhering to infection control protocols
- Collaborating with a diverse team of healthcare professionals to deliver outstanding patient care
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and qualities:
- Previous experience as a healthcare assistant in a hospital setting is essential
- Demonstrated compassion, empathy, and a genuine desire to care for others
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with patients and colleagues
- Flexibility to work night shifts on a staff bank/zero hours contract basis, with varying shift patterns
- Physical stamina to assist patients and perform necessary duties during the night hours
- A professional and respectful demeanor when dealing with patients, families, and colleagues
