We have a vacancy for a hard-working, organised and motivated person to join our friendly Stores team in the Pharmacy Department at Watford General Hospital.
The successful candidate will receive training and instruction for a Level 2 NVQ in pharmacy service skills and pharmaceutical science. This will involve learning remotely or travelling to college one day a month supported by regular study sessions in the department.
The post involves daily stock maintenance activities; picking and packing medicine requisitions for dispatch to internal and external locations; providing a medicines top-up service to ward and departments at Watford General Hospital; handling stock in various sizes, weights and quantities.
Sudden changes in service needs will require the individual to be adaptive and flexible and be able to work under pressure.
There has never been a more exciting time to join West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust! Major redevelopment works are planned as part of the New Hospital Programme. These will be most dramatic at Watford General Hospital where up to 90% of buildings will be new.
The trust has recently gained ‘teaching hospital’ status which reflects the dedicated work of many teams and individuals who have set the standard for delivering high quality training, learning and education at all levels of the workforce.
