Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated AWS Application Architect to join our dynamic team. In this hybrid role, you will play a pivotal role in designing and implementing secure and scalable cloud-based solutions using Amazon Web Services (AWS). Your expertise will directly contribute to the development of advanced applications that support our defence initiatives. Active SC Clearance is a requirement for this position. Responsibilities: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, design cloud-based solutions, and develop technical architectures using AWS services and tools. Design and implement highly available, scalable, and secure applications on AWS. Utilize your in-depth understanding of AWS technologies to drive the implementation of cloud-native solutions. Evaluate and select appropriate AWS services to meet specific project requirements. Architect, deploy, and manage infrastructure as code using tools like AWS CloudFormation. Ensure adherence to best practices and industry standards for security, reliability, and performance. Conduct performance optimization and cost analysis to optimize AWS resources. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to other team members. Stay up to date with the latest AWS offerings, industry trends, and emerging technologies. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Extensive experience as an Application Architect, Solution Architect, or similar role. Strong expertise in designing and implementing cloud-based solutions on AWS. Solid understanding of cloud architecture principles, microservices, and serverless computing. Proficiency in AWS services, including but not limited to EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, DynamoDB, API Gateway, and IAM. Hands-on experience with infrastructure as code using tools such as AWS CloudFormation or Terraform. Demonstrated ability to architect and deploy highly available, fault-tolerant, and scalable applications on AWS. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with a focus on delivering practical and innovative solutions. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders. Active SC Clearance is mandatory.
