The Role:
We are looking for someone who is keen to develop into a Data Science role within a fast-paced consultancy. You will help support Artesia's work on a range of interesting and varied projects across a number of clients. Projects will cover areas such as leakage estimation, strategy, and analysis; night-use analysis; demand forecasting; water conservation and smart metering.

This is a role that will give you the opportunity to help us maintain our reputation in water demand and develop our skills to meet future challenges.
Responsibilities:
- You will be expected to perform data analysis, application of data management and statistical techniques required for project delivery using a combination of data manipulation, exploratory analysis, programming, modelling, and understanding of the outputs and implications.
- You will carry out tasks including time series analysis, forecasting, multilinear regression, machine learning and data visualisation.
- You will be expected to work collaboratively with the project team and the wider business.
- You will use appropriate business project planning tools to support the smooth running of a wide range of projects.
- You will assist in the communication of project outcomes to clients in an engaging, clear, and concise way to ensure our clients understand the work we have provided.
- Ensure that company style, format and branding are adhered to for all outputs.
- Develop an understanding of output requirements and target audience to assist project managers and the wider project teams with the delivery of results.
- To use your initiative in continual development and initiate self-learning.
- Ensure your outputs are fully auditable and repeatable whilst maintaining version control.
Requirements:
- A degree with a mathematical, scientific, or engineering background is essential.
- A good understanding of statistics.
- Familiarity of using machine learning, mathematical modelling and visualisation tools for data analysis.
- Awareness and familiarity of various business and project systems such as Resource Management, SharePoint, Slack and Gitlab.
- Experience of using R for data analysis and statistical modelling (similar languages would be considered).
- Ability to learn and apply new knowledge gained in the water industry which you will apply to your tasks and projects.
- You will be confident and proactive, and able to work as part of a team to deliver challenging project objectives.
- Ability to problem solve.
- Independent in managing tasks and timelines.
- To be able to demonstrate an awareness of the core data science skills; data wrangling, statistics & modelling, visualisation, technology and programming.
- Candidates must be eligible to work in the UK.
Benefits:
This role will be 37.5 hours per week, Monday – Friday, with the benefit of flexible working.
Salary: £27,000 - £32,000 depending on qualifications, skills and experience.
