We have an exciting opportunity for a permanent, full time Ambulance Vehicle Preparation (AVP) Operative, based in Huddersfield.
No experience is required as full training will be given. An initial 4 week Training package forms part of your Learning and Development.
Our training package includes Level 2 Apprenticeship and Level 2 NCFE.
Ambulance Vehicle Preparation Operatives process ambulance service vehicles in a prescribed and controlled way that ensures each ambulance is fully equipped and prepared to attend and treat a patient. The role is a key operational support function, which ensures patient safety whilst supporting Operations in meeting its targets. Main duties include detailed cleaning and Infection Prevention and Control activities, checking and inspecting medical and lifting & handling equipment, restocking all consumables and completing vehicle checks. Other duties include the preparation of consumables, stock control, re-fueling and moving vehicles across various locations, recording all daily activities and the repatriation of equipment from Hospital Trusts.

A DRIVING LICENSE WITH C1 CLASS IS ESSENTIAL- You will be required to confirm within your application that you hold a full C1 Category on your license which is valid within the UK.
The full-time posts are an average 37.5 hour per week contract based on a 24 hour, 7 day a week rota system including Bank Holidays preparing our frontline operational vehicles.
This post offers an opportunity to work outside the usual 9 to 5 daytime routine with various rota days off across the week along with significant financial enhancements for maintaining our provision during the evening and weekends. Our Ambulance Vehicle Preparation is completed throughout each 24hr period and working durations include 8, 10 & 12 hour shifts. You will work a scheduled rota which does include a number of relief weeks.
Holiday entitlement is between 27 days and 33 days depending on length of NHS service plus bank holidays on a pro-rata basis.
With unsociable payments taken into account pay will be in the region of £25,000 -£27,000.
