Job description
The School of Medicine Faculty Education Office are looking for an experienced AV (Audio Visual) technician to support and facilitate the delivery of teaching for undergraduate, postgraduate and short courses in the Faculty of Medicine (FoM) at our Hammersmith campus.
This role is pivotal to the delivery of front-line, on-campus support to our staff and students and supporting daily teaching activities.
Duties and responsibilities
- ensure that all our teaching spaces are set up and ready for teaching, as well as make sure all teaching events are video recorded and available to view online
- provide first-line maintenance/troubleshooting, monitor system upgrades, and ensure security of rooms and equipment
- deliver excellent customer service to our staff and students and help them to use available AV facilities confidently and effectively
- help the Faculty to maintain and improve existing teaching facilities by assisting with teaching and lab space refurbishments
Essential requirements
- A-Level standard or equivalent vocational qualifications
- Substantial experience of audio-visual systems and facilities management, or a similar relevant role
- Experience of Panopto or equivalent video capture system
- Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision
- Strong customer service skills and interpersonal skills
- Effective problem-solving capability and ability to exercise judgement
- Self-motivated, pro-active and enthusiastic, adaptable and flexible approach
- A highly methodical and accurate approach to work with exceptionally close attention to detail.
- Ability to manage projects such as minor refurbishment works or software upgrades
