Quality Engineer I (Level 1 Position)
The primary responsibility of a Quality Engineer is to identify and implement the required inspection protocols and test procedures to ensure that all products meet the customer and regulatory requirements. This position will lead projects focused on quality improvements to drive continuous improvement initiatives. The Quality Engineer will act as a liaison between the customer, manufacturing, and engineering on quality issues and will make recommendations for changes and improvements.
Key duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Develop and analyze data to determine capabilities and propose quality requirements for evaluation
Collaboratively develop tools to improve efficiencies within fabrication and quality
Create, document, and implement inspection criteria and methods
Ability to understand, interpret and apply GD&T to inspection process
Work with cross functional departments to address quality issues to achieve established plant quality objectives
Conduct internal process audits to identify opportunities for improvement
Coordinate internal Non Conformances and work with a cross-functional team to resolve corrective actions
Verification of effectiveness on all internal corrective actions
Extremely detailed oriented and organized
Good communication skills
Must be able to handle multiple tasks with the ability to rapidly change priorities
Ability to work independently or within a team environment
Highly trainable, eager to learn to new skills and motivated to grow within the organization
Position requires working out of our headquarters in Lewis Run, Pennsylvania.
Education and/or experience minimum requirement:
Two year Associate’s degree in a technical field, or >2 years of experience in a related engineering or quality field
Regular use of desktop computer including Microsoft Office and company operations software. Experience with or the ability to learn and effectively utilize enterprise resource planning (ERP) business process management software. Previous use of Microsoft Dynamics AX a plus.
Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical documents, written in English. Must be able to speak English effectively; present information and respond to team members’ inquiries and problems as well as project a professional image to visitors and customers.
Full-time salaried 1st shift position. Pay based upon education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities.
