Nottingham Autism Support Service is looking for a highly motivated female Support Worker to join an already strong and skilled team to enable the on-going person-centred support of a young adult with severe Autism and challenging behaviour.
This client needs 1-1 support in the community and 1-1 in the home. The hours required for support are on flexible for 3 hours on a Monday and 3 hours on a Tuesdays .
Duties for the successful candidate will include:
Encouraging client to make choices and become involved in person centred activities in and around the home
Provide ideas for person centred activities
Be a successful part of a team where sharing ideas and developing skills is central to the role
Be proactive in providing support to all members of the family when necessary
Successful candidates will have at least 2 years previous experience, professional or life, of working with people on the autistic spectrum and will be able to provide 2 references to reflect this and be over 18 years old.
Experience in mental health and a certificate in health and social care would be beneficial.
