Job description
We are looking to recruit a Financial Services Audit Manager to work full time within our Financial Services audit team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a portfolio of investment trusts, investment/wealth managers and other corporate entities within the financial services spaces. They would also play a key role in the development of the team and in the planned growth and capitalisation on new business opportunities
The location for this role is within the Central Belt of Scotland.
The Financial Services Audit Manager will be responsible for (but not limited to):
- Plan and manage the effective, professional and efficient delegation, flow-through and completion of Audit work for clients.
- Maintain up to date technical knowledge of Audit and Financial Reporting and related matters.
- Provide high level technical and Audit planning advice to clients.
- Assist the Audit RI with Audit planning work and local reporting.
- Manage and support a team of Audit staff to achieve their goals and objectives ensuring they are developing their skills and capabilities.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, contacts and colleagues.
- Work closely with the audit team to ensure audit work is handled efficiently and effectively from start to finish and is done in accordance with the Firm's Audit policy and other relevant policies and procedures.
- Be the principal contact for larger clients on day to day audit matters.
- Liaising with client staff while on the client's premises, building effective relationships with client's staff.
- Building relationships with client staff and acting as an ambassador for the firm.
About You:
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to impact and influence others.
- Relevant experience in this or a similar role is preferred.
- ICAS, ACCA qualification or equivalent
- Experience in supervising or managing staff.
- Practical experience of using software systems in the preparation of audit files, financial statements and audit working papers. Full training will be given on all software packages.
- The successful candidate will also have good organisational skills and be pro-active in their approach to their work.
