Job description
We are looking to recruit Associate Property Lawyers to join our team in St Leonards on Sea. This would suit a person looking for a training role in conveyancing or someone currently running a remortgage or similar caseload looking to expand their knowledge and experience.
Key responsibilities of an Associate Property Lawyer
- You will be responsible for managing a caseload on a day to day basis which includes all aspects of the conveyancing transaction from instruction to completion, registration and closure of the file.
- Taking instructions, keeping accurate file notes, communicating with clients and 3rdparties, and completing tasks. You will draft legal documents including Standard Precedent Letters, Contract Packs, Exchange and Completion letters, general correspondence,and Land Registry and HMRC forms.
- Carry out Pre-completion, Land Registry and Conveyancing searches accurately and timely. You will ensure the file is ready for exchange and completion, making sure all the correct and necessary paperwork and funds are in place.
- Carry out Post Completion work including preparing and sending applications tothe Land Registry, Stamp Duty Land Tax submissions, file closures and checking account ledgers.

Skills and experience required to be an Associate Property Lawyer
- Ideally this role would suit someone who has recently graduated or has experience working in the property sector but this isn’t essential.
- Excellent communicator, who can demonstrate good time management, alongside organisational and problem-solving skills. Accuracy and the ability to pay attention to detail is crucial.
- Self-motivated and able to work alone or as part of a team.
- Knowledge of Case Management Systems and Microsoft Office especially Word, Excel and Outlook is preferred but not essential.
Opportunities for working remotely are not offered with this role as it is office based.
