Job description
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Associate Producer to join the Sky Sports Social team, using the best techniques and systems to curate the best of social media for both broadcast and digital spaces, as well as produce compelling, innovative ways of storytelling – particularly video.
The role also requires collaboration and communication with the editorial and video teams in Sky Sports Digital as well as more widely with Sky Sports News and Sky Sports Content teams.
Reporting to the Senior Producer – Social Media this is a key role that will ensure Sky Sports remains the destination of choice for sports fans, creates revenue opportunities and continues to add value to the Sky Sports subscription.
What you'll do:
- Producing & editing high-quality sports video content for digital and social platforms
- Lead planning and production of multi-camera, high profile shoots with elite talent
- Contribute new ideas and propositions to ensure Sky Sports is able to reach diverse & varied audiences
- Maintain a good knowledge of current sporting issues, stories and rival publishers.
- Mentor Junior Social Producers, supporting their development as members of the Sky Sports social team
- Liaise with key stakeholders across Sky to deliver engaging promotional material of the highest standard
- Deliver sports news social video in a timely and accurate manner, demonstrating good news judgement
- Ability to work effectively & lead others under pressure, react quickly and meet tight deadlines in all live environments.
- Understanding of budgets, business priorities, and relationships with stakeholders
- Support Sky and Sky Sports in the promotion of “Force for Good” initiatives
What you'll bring:
- Highly motivated and creative
- Ability to display sound news judgement in a pressurised environment.
- In-depth knowledge of YouTube & social platforms
- Experience using Premiere Pro & Adobe suite
- Previous experience of publishing sports content on social platforms.
- Able to readily embrace new technology and change
- Demonstrated experience working in a quick-paced work environment with tight deadlines
- A great teammate, believing in collaboration, adaptability and initiative
- A calm, organised and methodical approach to work
- Ability to prioritise workload
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, combined with the ability to provide quick resolution to problems
- Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential
