Job Description
At Lloyds Banking Group (LBG), we are driven by a clear purpose - to help Britain prosper. Across the Group, our colleagues are passionate about making a difference to customers, businesses, and communities.
Within Lloyds Bank Corporate Markets (LBCM), the Securitised Products Group (SPG) team are currently looking for an Associate to join them. SPG are part of the Lloyds Bank Corporate Markets (LBCM) Capital Markets business and are based in London and New York. The team structures, markets and distributes asset backed securities transactions globally for LBGs financial and corporate clients as well as providing both syndicated and bilateral asset-backed funding and derivatives to financial and corporate clients.
About the role:
This role is in the Portfolio and Financing Management team, where SPG has established and further enhanced over the past few years a sophisticated surveillance and risk management capability, managing the extensive collateral data, structural performance & counterparty risks within the portfolio.
You'll work in a team of five people that are responsible for the financing of the portfolio as well as acting as the first line risk & portfolio management function. The key responsibility of the role will be towards the ongoing credit risk of the portfolio, but you may be involved in the funding or regulatory reporting of the portfolio on a development or ad hoc basis
The SPG private financing portfolio is significant, with more than 50 individual facilities totalling over £18bn, across core currencies and a wide range of client & collateral types. By looking at each of these facilities and their supporting assets, you'll get to learn about asset types ranging from mortgages and credit cards to premium finance loans and trade receivables, liaising closely with colleagues across the business and group including Risk.
The team completes monthly portfolio management reporting on a facility-by-facility basis. This will include analysing investor reports, commenting on asset trends and reporting any anomalies to the rest of the team. They will be responsible for the preparation of monthly regulatory reports and the maintenance of SPG’s internal facility ratings and monitoring of external ratings.
The reports come into the team, primarily in Excel, so a good understanding of reading and modifying spreadsheets would be useful.
You'll work with and discuss individual portfolio characteristics with SPG banking colleagues and CB & LBCM credit risk teams. Whilst you'll be considered part of the front office / business team, there will be limited client contact – the role will primarily have contact with other SPG team members and other areas of LB and LBCM providing operational services to SPG.
Preparation of SPG credit presentations and materials as required, including quarterly and annual portfolio reviews.
You may undertake specific project work from time to time around portfolio capital management, RWA management, and regulatory compliance.
We monitor the market environment pertaining to securitisation to identify market opportunities and solutions for clients and monitor market developments related to the underlying assets (UK mortgage, unsecured consumer loans, credit cards and auto loans).
Please note that whilst we're able to offer some flexible working the Capital Markets business, based in 10 Gresham Street London, is primarily an office based business unit and there will be an expectation of you being in the office for a minimum of 3-4 days per week especially as you develop into the role.
About you:
Key capabilities/knowledge:
  • You'll have experience with and an ability to manage large data sets primarily via Excel spreadsheets and a familiarity with internal LBG credit risk systems
  • An understanding of Credit Risk for Corporate and FI clients with a particular understanding of cashflow lending risk analysis will be very relevant.
  • You'll have an interest and enthusiasm to learn about a new and growing product area, keen to develop your understanding of Securitised Products and the associated characteristics of different asset types as well as Capital Markets and LBCM as a whole.
  • Be organised as well as have the ability to manage and prioritise multiple tasks in a timely and effective manner.
  • Ability to build relationships and effectively manage a variety of stakeholders.
  • Ability to learn, understand and apply a variety of statutory, regulatory and compliance requirements.
  • Have a flexible approach, demonstrating passion, enthusiasm and a ‘can do’ attitude, always being team and results focussed.
  • Strong communication and analytical skills coupled with a collaborative approach to delivery.
What we can offer you in return…
In addition to the competitive base salary you'll also receive:
  • A 4% flex cash pot to spend on benefits (or take as cash)
  • Discretionary annual group performance bonus
  • Generous employer pension contribution up to 16%
  • Private medical health cover
  • Access to share schemes and staff discounts
  • 28 days holiday entitlement plus bank holidays

We support the principles of agile working and are happy to consider flexible working arrangements. We're an equal opportunity employer and deeply value diversity within our organisation.
We'll ensure that individuals with disabilities are provided reasonable accommodation to participate in the job application or interview process, to perform essential job functions, and to receive other benefits and privileges of employment. Please contact us to request accommodation.

With us you'll have a key role to play in shaping the financial services of the future, whilst the scale and reach of our Group means you'll have many opportunities to learn, grow and develop.
