Position Profile:This role will have direct management responsibility for the service delivery of payroll in EMEA. Working as part of the Finance team this person will work cross‐ functionally with HR and Legal.
Brief Description:
- Own and manage the daily EMEA payroll operations ensuring accuracy, timeliness, customer service and compliance
- Oversee managed service provider activities across payroll, ensuring adherence to service levels, internal policies and procedures, and external regulation, while focusing on achieving cost effectiveness and strong customer service
- Establish and monitor company service levels with third party payroll providers
- Drive innovative solutions and lead the continuous improvement in accuracy, efficiency and service levels
- Uphold a strong internal controls environment, as required by Sarbanes Oxley and other country regulatory requirements, by maintaining effective controls and procedures, ensuring compliance, monitoring audit findings, and implementing corrective actions as necessary
- Oversee addition of new country payrolls including the implications of Stock (RSU) and Option awards to those new employees
- Maintain a current awareness of new or changed laws and regulations to ensure continued compliance, and work with third party providers to document updates to regulatory requirements globally each year
- Work closely with our HR, Finance and Legal teams to develop clear roles and responsibilities around the business processes, information, and controls around that have an impact on the integrity of payroll/stock processing and tax reporting
- Communicate and partner actively with HR, Legal, Finance and other senior management as needed on all payroll and stock matters including administration of compensation & benefits for applicable countries
- Ensure on‐time remittance and returns of statutory taxes and social insurance contributions
- Assist with annual statutory audit and work with external auditors as needed
- Assist with Revenue Authorities requests and audit as required
- Other ad hoc duties/projects as may arise
Essential Functions
- Interacts with: Human Resources, Vendors, Accounting, Stock Administration, Employment Tax, Treasury, Legal, Sales and Internal Audit teams.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in business, accounting, or related discipline
- 10 + years in International Payroll Management experience, multi-country, and multi-entity
- 5 + years of People Management experience with direct reports
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience managing multiple country payrolls across the EMEA region
- Ability to develop business cases, driving initiatives and justification for resources
- Knowledge & understanding of international equity programs and international mobility considerations
- Strong analytical bias, understanding and research of business processes
- Outstanding interpersonal skills with strong oral and written communication
- Proven experience of working with both internal and external customers
- Successful track record of managing multiple priorities simultaneously
- Successful track record of people leadership with influence to generate energy and build morale
- Performance planning, career mapping, mentorship, coaching and training
- Detail oriented, reliable, pragmatic and proactive
- Public company experience preferred
- Experienced user of Workday HCM (Human Capital Management) Tool
- System integration and implementation experience is a plus
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite of Products (Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Experience in remote work environment is a plus
Required/Preferred Education and Licenses
- International Payroll Management
- Advanced usership in Microsoft Excel
- Transformation experience is a plus (RFP, M&A, etc.)
