An exciting opportunity has become available in the Capital Structuring and Group Planning team in GCT. This opportunity has arisen as a result of a colleague moving on from the Group.You'll be joining a diverse team, in a fast-paced environment, with a huge scope of opportunities to learn. The team covers a broad scope of work, including owning the Group's capital plan and targets, issuing capital bonds into the market to meet those plans and targets, optimising the existing capital portfolio through buybacks of both bonds and equity, and ensuring the Group is compliant with our regulatory requirements from a capital perspective.

You'll be joining a diverse team, in a fast-paced environment, with a huge scope of opportunities to learn. The team covers a broad scope of work, including owning the Group's capital plan and targets, issuing capital bonds into the market to meet those plans and targets, optimising the existing capital portfolio through buybacks of both bonds and equity, and ensuring the Group is compliant with our regulatory requirements from a capital perspective.
Relationships are hugely important to us, with having an extensive stakeholder network across Treasury and the wider group, as well as managing external relationships with third parties such as investment banks, law firms and the regulators.
What can you bring to the role?
Desirable, but not essential skills:
- Proactively building and maintaining relationships across a range of different stakeholders
- Ability to prioritise your workload and adapt to challenges as they present themselves
- Experience and confidence in formulating proposals and recommendations, and presenting to senior management
- Attention to detail and ability using excel
- Curiosity and problem solving skills with the ability to convey seemingly complex concepts simply and succinctly
- An understanding of the capital stack and other areas of treasury, or the ability and willingness to learn this
- An understanding of our Group structure and the key legal entities

This role is considered Certified under the Senior Manager and Certification Regime as either requiring mandatory qualifications or being deemed as a role capable of providing ‘significant harm’ to customers. Due to this, successful candidates and will be subject to enhanced levels of vetting, and required to complete a fitness and propriety attestation on commencement in role.
Colleagues performing this role will be required to be complete a fitness and propriety attestation on an annual basis and will also be subject to additional routine criminal and credit checks.

This role has been identified as a Client-dealing function under SYSC 27.8.18R as defined in the FCA Handbook.
The Person (“P”) performs the client-dealing FCA certification function for a firm if:

(a) a person with or for whom those activities are carried out; or
(b) the property of any such person;
