Job Purpose Summary
- To efficiently assist in the management of all store operations to achieve targeted sales and company objectives through the use of KPI targets, excellent customer service & the effective management and development of your team.
- To support the Store Manager assuming their responsibilities in their absence.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
- To improve business performance and hit objectives/KPIs.
- To ensure your team deliver consistently in “Trading The Hamleys Way” (TTHW).
- To drive, deliver and develop exceptional customer service.
- Maintain regular and pro-active communication with key stakeholders ensuring all retail principles, store layouts, recruitment/training of team members and the overall brand proposition meet the required brand standards.
- Identify store team skill/knowledge gaps and provide continuous coaching and development.
- Contribute to the implementation and management of promotions designed to drive performance levels.
- To actively support the recruitment, induction, development and retention of your team.
- To set goals and monitor performance, taking action to help people meet company expectations and reach their potential.
- To assist the Store Manager in the management of the store P&L, by operating within set budgets and helping to control all costs/losses.
- To ensure adherence to all employee policies and procedures, including but not limited to stock control, H&S, security, VM, till operations etc.
- To interpret the stores performance via the use of commercial reports, to aid decision making.

Specific Job Skills:
- At least 3 year experience of retail management
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- IT literate, numerate and articulate
- Ability to work independently and as part of the team
- Effective time management and planning skills
- Ability to communicate team members views to the Management team effectively
Computer skills:
- Microsoft Office (Min Intermediate)
Education: Educated to A-level.
