We have a requirement for an Assistant Site Manager/Site Manager/Contracts Manager to join the rapidly growing contractor arm of our national company. The role will be mainly site based. However, there may be times when you have to visit the office (based in Hertfordshire).
You will be responsible for the day-to-day monitoring and management of a construction site and be the main point of contact for everyone working on it. We want people with the drive, ambition, personality, and desire to succeed and overcome challenges.

Role and Responsibilities:
- Overseeing highway construction works and report to the Group Engineering Manager with any queries.
- Monitor on site team members, visitors, contractors and deliveries.
- Monitor and maintain Health & Safety during the construction project.
- Co-ordinate the various stages of the construction project.
- Maintain quality control procedures.
- Monitor and update the works programme.
- Provide updates to the Engineering and Commercial Teams relating to the project(s).
- Ensure working methods are performed correctly.
- Monitor the construction works to ensure all specifications are adhered to.
- Assist the Engineering Team with the design drawings to ensure they are followed correctly.
- Sub-contractor supervision including site inductions and site record reporting.
- Liaising with clients, sub-contractors, and other professional staff who may attend the construction project.
- Complete resident liaisons throughout the entire project (if applicable).
- Provide technical assistance, advice and resolving problems on site.
- Comply with Company policies, procedures, and instructions.
Environment and Working Hours
- Site based office (South of England) in accordance with the HSE Guidelines.
- The office base in Hertfordshire is an open plan environment, secure parking on site.
- Company core office hours are 8.30 am until 5.00 pm (4:30pm on Fridays).
Person Requirements:
- HNC/HND or Degree in Construction, Civil Engineering or similar.
- Experience in site management.
- CSCS card.
- Civil Engineering / road construction background preferable (However, not essential).
- Experience in Highways and Sewers.
- Knowledge of Health & Safety Management.
- Commercial awareness.
- Good numeracy skills.
- Excellent communicator.
- Attention to detail.
- Organisation & time management skills.
- Problem-solving.
- Supervision & management skills.
- UK Driving License.

Salary: £30,000.00-£70,000.00 per year
