Grade: Scale 5 of The Henley College's Pay scale £23,628.00

The Post
We are seeking an enthusiastic Rugby Assistant Coach to join the Rugby Department at The Henley College. The successful candidate can have a Backs/Attack & Forwards/Defence specialism of delivery.
Key Responsibilities
· Together with the Head of Rugby, build the annual, termly and weekly playing and development plans for the programme
· Support the Head of Rugby to build session plans to best develop the players on and off field
· Work together with the Strength and Conditioning Coaches, Medical Staff & Rugby coaches to design development focused sessions
· Together with the Head of Rugby & S & C Coach undertake individual player reviews for all players in the programme
· Undertake small group and 1 to 1 skills sessions throughout the day
· Conduct detailed technical and statistical analysis of training and match play and present this to players (individually and in groups)
· Regularly review college resources and facilities including training equipment and playing kit
· Undertake appropriate administrative tasks where appropriate
· Support on Player recruitment alongside the Head of Rugby
· Contribute to all team meetings, including debriefs, strategy and planning meetings
· Form strong working relationships with players supporting them on and off pitch
· Ensure students are behaving within the agreed values and behaviours set out by the college & the Rugby department
· Support with any transport tasks as directed by the Head of Rugby
General Responsibilities
· Comply with any rules and regulations which the College may from time to time issue, to ensure the efficient operation of its business and the welfare and interest of its employees and learners.
· Work flexibly and efficiently to maintain the highest professional standards and to promote and implement the policies of the College.
· To ensure adherence to all College policies and procedures including Staff Code of Conduct, Safeguarding, Keeping Children Safe in Education, and IT Policy and procedures.
· To work to the College quality standards and systems within the context of the College quality systems.
· To ensure continuous professional development (CPD) requirements as specified by the College and that may be identified during college processes, for example, Developmental reviews.
· To undertake such other duties and responsibilities as are appropriate to this level of post.
Essential Criteria
· Excellent communication skills with people of all levels as well as interpersonal skills & ability to problem solve with/between students;
· Flexible and adaptable approach to working hours
· Ability to work as part of a team and independently
· Ability to deal well with pressure and multi – task
· Full Driver’s license essential and willing to drive mini bus
· Hold a minimum of a RFU / UKCC Level 3 Coaching Qualification or its recognised equivalent
· Experience in working with U18 athletes
Desirable Criteria
· A basic teaching qualification or willingness to obtain one
· Experience of working within Academy Rugby
· An appreciation & experience of different coaching methods
Terms of Employment
Tenure of post: Permanent, All Year Round
Hours of work: 37 hours per week
Start Date: 3rd July 2023
Salary: £23,628.00 per annum
