A 0.5 WTE Band 4 Assistant Psychologist is required for the Renfrewshire Learning Disability Service within the Clyde area of NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde. The post holder will support and enhance the professional psychological care of clients within the service by providing psychological assessment and interventions under the weekly clinical supervision of a qualified clinical psychologist. In addition, they will work independently according to an agreed plan and within the overall framework of the service policies and procedures. This work will primarily consist of administration and scoring of standardised neuropsychological tests in addition to therapeutic work both on an individual level and within wider systems. The post holder may also be involved in the preparation of identified materials for therapy sessions, the delivery of a range of psychological therapies (this may involve domiciliary visits) and attending case conferences and liaising with other professionals. Other responsibilities may include audit, service evaluation, assisting the work of qualified clinical psychologists and other professionals working within the service. Renfrewshire Learning Disability Service Community is based in Renfrew which is approximately 20 minutes’ drive from Glasgow city centre. Applicants should have First or Upper Second Class honours degree in Psychology and be eligible for graduate membership of the British Psychological Society.
