We have some exciting opportunities within our recently formed Integrated Mental Health Team with 2 posts in Stafford, 2 posts in Cannock and 1 post in Seisdon.

The Integrated Mental Health Teams offer community based interventions for people experiencing a range of mental health conditions. The teams have been developed in line with MPFT’s Community Mental Health Transformation Framework to offer integrated, place based community mental health services.

We are looking for enthusiastic and organised Assistant Psychologists to support Practitioner Psychologists and Mental Health Practitioners in the delivery of specialist assessments and interventions to service users who present with complex mental health conditions. The role is a varied role and provides opportunity to build upon clinical skills, utilise service evaluation and research skills and develop multidisciplinary team working skills; therefore good time keeping skills and being able to manage multiple, competing demands are essential to the role.

  • Providing psychological assessment and psychological interventions, individual and group based, under the close supervision of a qualified Clinical Psychologist, working independently according to a plan agreed with the Clinical Psychologist and within the overall framework of the service’s policies and procedures.
  • To work collaboratively with all pathway colleagues. To assist in clinically related administration, conduct of audits, collection of statistics, and development of audit and/or research projects, teaching and project work.
  • To assist in the facilitation, administration and evaluation of workshops.

The role will involve completing structured 1-2-1 clinical work under the supervision of Practitioner Psychologists.

The post would provide great experience for someone looking to apply for clinical/counselling doctorate training. The roles will be based in Stafford, Cannock and Seisdon and will involve working across other areas of South Staffs.

The successful applicants will be motivated to provide high quality care to our patients. The candidates will need to have drive and determination in regards to their own personal development, whilst using their own creative and innovative ideas to support the continuous development of this exciting team.

The usual hours of work are Monday to Friday 9am – 5pm. You will also be required to have access to a vehicle for work purposes and hold a full licence.
