1 Year Fixed Term Contract / Secondment Opportunity

Part Time – 28.8 hours (4 days a week) – Salary £35,223 – £36,417 PA (Pro rata)

We are able to provide intensive and high quality therapeutic and practical support for families since we integrated Child and Adolescent Mental Health services within our Social Care Children and Families Service. You will join a highly regarded and well established clinical service which has a strong learning culture as well as ongoing ties to local and national partners in developing best practice at the forefront of integrated delivery and leading in therapeutic interventions to children, young people and their families and providing consultation and clinical expertise to colleagues and professionals.

As an Assistant Psychologist within the service, you will work as part of a team that provides high quality assessments and multi-modal interventions to children who are in need, at risk and Looked After and who have a range of complex needs in relation to their emotional health and wellbeing. You will be supervised by a registered Clinical Psychologist in line with BPS requirements. The team will be specifically working with young people presenting with issues related to clinical risk and the offer will be intensive intervention.

You will need to have an awareness of a range of disciplines including Clinical and Counselling Psychology and Systemic Psychotherapy. You will primarily be involved in the collection, analysis and dissemination of clinical output and outcomes data. There are also opportunities to become involved in psychological assessments and to undertake direct work with CYP to gain an understanding of their experiences in order to support service development. An Upper Second Class Honours degree or above is required and you will also need to be eligible for GBR with the BPS. The post will provide suitable experience for those intending to apply to undertake clinical psychology training.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and IT literate individual, with an eye for detail and excellent communication and presentation skills, as engaging with a range of stakeholders is a key aspect of the role.

An enhanced DBS is required for this role.
