Job description
Role:
To provide the Lead Psychologist with support in providing a professional service to patients with complex mental health needs in a locked rehabilitation setting.
Key Result Areas:
Clinical
1. To undertake protocol based psychological assessments including risk assessments, self-report measures, and neuropsychological tests under the supervision of the Lead Psychologist.
2. To assist in the preparation of clinical reports under the supervision of the Lead Psychologist.
3. To assist in the formulation and delivery of care plans involving psychological treatment and/or management under the supervision of the Lead Psychologist.
4. To attend and contribute to appropriate multi-disciplinary meetings under the supervision of the Lead Psychologist.
5. To assist in the co-ordination and running of therapeutic groups.
6. Other clinical duties as required by the Lead Psychologist.
Record Keeping
1. To maintain appropriate records including clinical notes, records of psychological interventions and assessments, and psychological observations with due regard for Information Governance under the supervision of the Lead Psychologist;
2. To monitor and maintain the Psychology Department’s tests and resources and to inform the Lead Psychologist of any additional resources required.
Training and Supervision
1. To participate in all mandatory training as required by the service and to ensure that this is kept up to date.
2. To engage in regular supervision with the Lead Psychologist and to assist in maintaining accurate records of this. Weekly supervision of one hour will be a minimum requirement.
3. Assist in developing and delivering training to other staff groups under the supervision of the Lead Psychologist.
4. To engage in any training required for Continuing Professional Development as discussed with the Lead Psychologist.
Service Development
1. To undertake service specific audits as directed by the Lead Psychologist
This list of duties is not exhaustive, and the post-holder may be required to undertake other duties and projects as required by the Lead Psychologist.
