Job description
Kneesworth House is a mental health hospital situated in Cambridgeshire (on the borders of Hertfordshire) with good commuting access to / from London. The hospital has a full pathway of care including medium, low secure, locked rehabiltation and open recovery wards situated across the site.
The Assistant Psychologist post includes:
- To undertake protocol based psychological assessments of service users applying psychological tests, including self-report measures, rating scales, direct and indirect structured observations and semi-structured interviews, and others involved in the service user’s care, under the supervision of a qualified psychologist.
- To assist in the formulation and delivery of care plans involving the psychological treatment and/or management of a service user’s problems, under the supervision of a qualified psychologist
- To assist in the co-ordination and co-facilitation of therapeutic groups as appropriate.
- Assists with the planning, delivery and review of one-to-one sessions under the supervision of a qualified psychologist
- Maintains accurate and up-to-date records in the form of case notes, case files, clinical reports and other associated documentation presenting and sharing relevant information with colleagues, in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- To attend and contribute to appropriate multi-disciplinary meetings as and when required.
- To support and undertake data collection and analysis, for both the purposes of research and service evaluation. This may include collecting and reviewing a variety of data such as psychometric scores, interview data, historical information, literature searches. It may also involve data analysis and report writing under supervision
- To support and contribute to the training and support of other staff.
