Job description

Priory Hospital Burgess Hill, Hassocks BN6 9LE, is located 10 minutes (train/car) from Brighton and is on the main Brighton to London (Victoria/London Bridge/Kings Cross) rail line. It is situated in a semi-rural location on the fringe of Burgess Hill in Sussex.

We currently provide the following services:

  • Male PICU
  • Male Acute

You will have a strong voice as members of established and experienced MDT to deliver outstanding care to our patient population ensuring that every patient journey is underpinned by the experience of empathic, compassionate and outcome focused care in a safe environment.



Priory Hospital Burgess Hill is expanding in August 2023 as we open a new PICU ward.


We are now recruiting for a dynamic and enthusiastic individual to join our team as an Assistant Psychologist at Priory Hospital Burgess Hill.


As an Assistant Psychologist at our hospital you will be assisting professional and clinical staff with the planning, implementation and evaluation of therapy and care plans in order to support the mental, emotional, physical and social well-being of assigned clients, their carers and their families.


Your role and duties will include:

  • Supporting senior staff with patient screening and assessment as part of the care and therapy-planning process
  • Assisting with the planning, delivery and review of one-to-one and group therapy sessions ensuring activities and interventions continue to meet the needs of the client
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records in the form of case notes, case files, clinical reports and other associated documentation
  • Collaborating with professional and clinical colleagues facilitating related therapy sessions and assisting with research, analysis and audit activities as directed

What we look for in our Assistant Psychologist:

  • The role holder will require an appropriate degree (Psychology Degree)
  • Previous experience working within mental health
  • Good IT literacy
  • Good observational and communication skills
  • Understands the need for strict confidentiality

Full time from August 2023. May consider part time hours prior to this date
