Gibson House provides care and support to 33 service users with a wide range of abilities and needs, including those with physical needs and Dementia.
Purpose of the role:
Ensure the supply of clean laundry throughout the home.
Main responsibilities:
1. To wash and distribute an adequate supply of laundered linen for the home.
2. Washing and ironing linen/residents clothing.
3. Conduct simple repairs on items of clothing.
4. Sewing on name tapes onto residents clothing so clothes are easily identifiable and not lost.
5. To follow Health and Safety procedures when dealing with the disposal of waste, and in laundering throughout the home.
6. Attending staff meetings and training sessions when required (some face to face training & also online training)
7. Record any breakages or defects to handyperson.
8. Follow Infection Prevention and Control Measures.
9. Ensuring cleanliness of laundry area and enhanced cleaning schedules are completed regularly throughout the shift.
Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
Part-time hours: 30 per week
Salary: £9.96 per hour
