Purpose of a Business Analyst - Change


The Business Analyst role is wide ranging: providing strategic business analysis to the Animal Friends business teams, leading small to mid-size projects and assisting Project Managers and others on larger more complex projects.

The focus of this position is to work closely with the business units, to gain in-depth understanding of the business strategy, processes, services, roadmap, and the context in which the business operates. This role will be key to understanding and documenting capabilities needed to address business challenges.


The Business Analyst is responsible for reviewing assigned business processes from end-to-end, to identify and address operational, financial and technological risks as well as identifying opportunities to improve efficiency. They will also be responsible for managing the changes through to delivery.


Responsibilities of a Business Change Analyst


  • Provide assistance with understanding the current organisational situation, identifying future needs and creating solutions to help meet those needs. The position provides exposure to a broad range of related projects and activities.
  • Up-to-date expertise in business processes and systems
  • Support and align efforts to meet customer and business needs
  • Communicate and manage customer relationships and expectations
  • Stay current with customer needs and strategies
  • Participate in multiple projects by completing and updating relevant requirements
  • Identify, create and facilitate process design changes by conducting business and systems process analysis and design
  • Provide and support the implementation of business solutions
  • Provide project level analysis
  • Identify improvement opportunities (proactive and reactive) with Operational business areas
  • Manage and report the backlog of opportunities; priority, status and benefit
  • Elicit and clearly document business and systems requirements
  • Assess business process and system inefficiencies
  • Identify ways to increase adoption and customer satisfaction
  • Demonstrate fluency in business processes and process differentiation
  • Ability to analyse business requirements, including recognising patterns and conceptualising processes
  • Be self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal support from Manager
  • Escalate any issues/conflicts to Manager where they cannot be resolved directly


To be considered as a Business Analyst - Change


  • Used to working on both small and medium scale projects
  • Proficient understanding of day-to-day operational processes, for both the internal business teams and external customers
  • Experienced at data and trend analysis, to understand the drivers behind the business and the need for change
  • Practised in using process improvement methodologies i.e. Six Sigma, Lean, TQM, Kaizen etc
  • Proficient in capturing and prioritising requirements
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills, to analyse information such as transactions, and customer behaviour, to help identify opportunities and make recommendations
  • Analysis experience working within the financial sector
  • Experience of tracking and monitoring benefit realisation
