Assistant Psychologist Band 4 Fixed Term 18 months contract.
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Assistant Psychologist to work within our Assessment and Intervention Team (AIT) in Haringey Integrated Learning Disabilities Service (HILDS). The AIT is an established multi-disciplinary team that work with individuals with learning disabilities who have complex challenging behaviour and/or mental health issues and are currently at risk of placement breakdown or hospital admission. The team aim to minimise placement breakdowns within the community and prevent hospital admissions and utilise a Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) framework in their approach. Furthermore, the team are also involved in supporting people from hospital into community placements as part of the Transforming Care programme.
The successful candidate will be supervised by a Clinical Psychologist working within the Learning Disabilities Service as well as working closely with wider multi-disciplinary colleagues including nursing, psychiatry, social work, speech and language therapy and occupational therapy. There are strong links to Assistant Psychologist groups and opportunities to develop learning through the LD special interest group. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a diverse borough with a client group with wide ranging needs and would suit a candidate with experience in working with people with learning disabilities and desire to work in a strengths-based model.
