Assistant Project Manager x3 - (Inside IR35)
Contract Term: 6 Months
Contracting Authority: EA
Location: Hybrid – up to 3 days a week in the Warrington office, other offices Include Preston and Penrith / Remote Working
2 roles will be in the Warrington office
1 role either Preston or Penrith
The Environment Agency (EA) is a non-departmental public body, established in 1996 and sponsored by the United Kingdom government's Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, with responsibilities relating to the protection and enhancement of the environment in England (and until 2013 also Wales).
As a Assistant Project Manager your main responsibilities will be
Supporting the Project Manager and wider team with the delivery of projects to time, cost and quality.- Supporting Project Managers to track project costs and risks against project forecasts using EA project management reporting tools
- Supporting production of scopes of work and contract documents and quality assuring deliverables against these scope documents.
- Liaising with stakeholders (internal and external).
- Deliver regular progress reports on activities
- Collate, format and distribute data to support project requirements, cascading to internal and external parties where appropriate.
Essential skills
Extensive experience in the support and delivery of Projects- Project and contract management awareness
- MS Projects skillset
- Commercial experience with the NEC suite of contracts, specifically PSC & ECC
- Producing business case reports to secure funding
- Risk Management skillset
- Health & Safety competence such as CDM
- Environmental Assessment Understanding
- Strong self starter
- Ability to manage a large caseload of project support and delivery
- Excellent communication skills
Desirable Skills
Technical knowledge and experience in engineering and construction is preferred.- Experience of working with and/or at the Environment Agency in Flood Risk Management is desirable, since an understanding of EA systems and processes is ideal, but not a requirement
- Understanding Hydrology & Hydraulic Modelling Principles
- Flood Damage Assessment & Economic Analysis
- Using the 5 Case Business Case Model to develop convincing business cases
- Evaluating Sustainable and Low Carbon Solutions
- Option Development Outline Design
- Preparation of scope and contract documentation for feasibility & design commissions and construction contracts
- Understanding Construction Techniques
