Job description
London Borough of Hounslow
We’re a council on the move. Learn and grow with us.
About us
The London Borough of Hounslow’s Delivery Plan is complex and ambitious. From supporting our young people, to improving housing, developing climate initiatives to driving change and transformation, it demonstrates that we are serious about getting things done.
That’s why we’re investing in people and doing things bigger and better than we ever have. To deliver these ambitions we need the best people on board.
About the role
As an Assistant Project Manager, you’ll help us make change happen across the borough, with a particular focus on capital development and regeneration. You can expect to be involved in a wide variety of activities, from updating project documentation, logs and reports to delivering a workstream or even a small project within a programme. This is a complex and challenging environment that offers fantastic opportunities to learn and grow alongside a more experienced team.
About you
As an aspiring project manager, you already have an interest in project management tools and techniques. Now you’re ready to build your experience and expertise. Your excellent IT skills cover the core Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams) and ideally include some knowledge of PRINCE2, APM or similar.
Highly organised and analytical, you demonstrate precise attention to detail while also possessing plenty of creative flair. Above all, you have what it takes to champion our values: an open mind, a collaborative approach, a willingness to embrace change, and a commitment to ensuring residents across Hounslow have what they need to thrive.
The Council is a “Disability Confident” employer, which means that applicants who have declared a disability, will automatically be shortlisted for interview if they demonstrate that they meet the minimum criteria on the employee specification.
Candidates will be invited to indicate any special needs or reasonable adjustments that may be required to enable their full participation in the interview process. Wherever possible such requests will be met.
