About the Opportunity
The experienced Jacobs team consists of professional project managers to key clients in the MOD and Nuclear sector. As such, you will actively contribute towards delivery activities and achieving predetermined, high-quality outputs.
Due to the varied nature of the work, the candidates will be required to get familiar and administer project development stages and delivery methodologies (such as RIBA, APM and PRINCE2); from project setup & initiation, through optioneering, design, delivery and close out, all of which will align with the linear integrated project lifecycle stages as set by the client (APM equivalent).
The Assistant Project Manager working in this role will:
- Provide essential support to the Project Manager Management Team, managing all aspects of the successful delivery of projects in the client environment
- Assist the management/reporting requirements and the delivery of the project / programme to the required standard, on time and within budget.
- Work with clients, contractors and internal & external stakeholders and designers with a diverse range of objectives.
- Be a sole UK National and required to undergo/obtain the required level of MOD security clearance.
- Be an excellent organiser and administrator.
- Ideally qualified in an appropriate engineering, construction or management subject.
- Ideally working towards becoming a member of the Association of Project Management or other similar body.
- Have experience of working on complex projects.
- Have an understanding of the principles and practices of planning, risk and cost management at programme and project levels.
- Understand design and development processes and their governance.
- Be aware of UK Health and Safety Legislation.
- Capable of effective multi-task working, identifying and managing priorities and working to challenging time scales.
- Competent in MSOffice, MS Project, Earned Value, reporting Tools.
