Within the IT Specialist Community of our Audit & Assurance business, our cross-industry portfolio involves a mix of IT external audit and other controls assurance work (e.g., third party assurance, SOC reports etc.). Our purpose is to serve the public interest and provide high-quality, independent IT external audit and controls assurance services.
You will be given the opportunity to engage with a broad set of high-caliber individuals, continually adapting, learning, and developing as you work with various teams to understand and provide IT external audit and assurance services over innovative client technology environments and developing deep technical skills and expertise in emerging risk areas such as Robotics, Blockchain, Cloud, and automation. You will have responsibility for a portfolio of clients, with real autonomy allowing the development of leadership and management skills with real opportunity to progress and drive your career.

As an Assistant Manager, you will have responsibility for:
- Taking ownership of delivering high-quality engagements in IT external audit and assurance work.
- Field managing delivery teams and building distinctive client relationships.
- Acting as the first point of contact for clients.
- Developing your knowledge and experience of the evolving corporate and financial services marketplace and underlying technologies.
- Building your expertise to develop genuine insight for our clients and sharing this knowledge with the wider team.
- Contributing to the development of innovative solutions to deliver IT audit and assurance work efficiently and effectively.
- Playing an active role in the management of our practice, including coaching and supporting junior staff.
- Communicating IT risk topics to a range of stakeholders in a clear and digestible manner.
- Advancing your ‘problem solving' skills and understanding the implications of our work when we have IT control failures.

To qualify for this opportunity following experience is essential:
- Experience of delivering and managing IT external audit and assurance engagements or in the field of risk and control, as well as familiarity with general IT controls.
- Ability to think creatively, generate innovative ideas, challenge the status quo and deliver effectively against challenging objectives.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- A passion for self-improvement and the motivation to help contribute to the wider team and firm.
- Ability to develop effective client relationships.
- Experience of independently managing projects, budgets and teams.
- A technology related background and / or IT external audit experience.
- Experience of working effectively in a diverse team environment.

Personal independence
Regulation and controls are standard practice in our industry and Deloitte is no exception. These controls provide important legal protection for both you and the firm. We are subject to a number of audit regulations, one of which requires that certain colleagues abide by specific personal independence constraints. This can mean that you and your "Immediate Family Members" are not permitted to hold certain financial interests (shares, funds, bonds etc.) with audit clients of the firm.
