Two great opportunities to join Suffolk County Council's Home First Ipswich and East Team as an Assistant Manager.
Your role and responsibilities
- provide leadership and professional support to a range of Home First staff including supporting Home First Out of Hours co-ordinators on an on-call basis evenings, weekends and bank holidays on a rota basis
- ensure that services are delivered through the assessment and re-ablement philosophy
- support the Registered Manager (Domiciliary Care) within a locality to meet CQC requirements
- support team leaders to play a key role in the development and maintenance of the assessment and enablement function within SLCC model (tier 2)
- act as a deputy for the Registered Manager as and when required
- provide formal line management and supervision to Home First team leaders
- offer Team Leaders ongoing coaching, advice and guidance on both formal and informal basis in relation to staffing issues and frontline practice
- contribute towards the development and implementation of key changes as required across both the service and the system e.g. Health Integration
- support with CQC auditing on behalf of Registered Manager to influence service improvements
- support delivery of a number of projects across Home First
- implement Transformation changes with support from Deputy and Transformation Manager and Service Development Lead (Capacity/POLR).
This job is part of the Home First team and will support delivery of multiple projects and programmes under their transformation agenda. This role is a countywide transformation role and will report to the Deputy and Transformation Manager although you will align to work alongside a locality team to support Integration. You will also act as a deputy for the CQC Registered Manager as and when required and support the area as required.
The team
Home First provides a short-term assessment and re-ablement care and support service to people living in their own homes. Home First acts as the Provider of Last Resort for long term care provision across Adult and Community Services (ACS).
Assessment and short-term support services may be required following a stay in hospital, an illness or crisis at home or help to avoid an admission in hospital.
This service which is registered with the Care Quality Commission works closely with colleagues from ACS Cluster Teams, Independent Providers, Health, the Boroughs, and Districts, the Multi Agency Safeguarding and a wide range of agencies such as those in the voluntary sector.
You will need:
- NVQ Level 4 in care or equivalent
- PG diploma in Public and Service Management or equivalent (desirable)
- good understanding and Knowledge of CQC regulations
- good knowledge of the Care Act – philosophy of re-ablement and promoting Independence
- good working knowledge and proven practical application of quality assurance system
- passion for improving the lives of people who access our services
- proven ability to effectively manage own workload and adapt to continuously changing external requirements
- proven ability to take lead role in promoting person centred care.
