Summary of Role Purpose
We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Manager to join our rapidly expanding Accounting Advisory Services (AAS) team. The team provides specialist accounting and financial reporting advice to clients across a range of complex accounting issues.
You will work across a diverse range of projects, varying in magnitude, focusing on the application of technical accounting, in particular: accounting policy conversions and GAAP analysis, preparation of financial statements or carve out accounts, merger and acquisition activity, implementation support for new standards, group restructurings, and training. You will often work as part of cross-functional teams including Transaction Services, Corporate Finance, Audit and Tax. You will also support with business development activities and contribute to the team’s growth and success.
The role is primarily delivery-focused with oversight from Managers and Senior Managers, however you may be required to lead teams and supervise the work of up to four people, depending upon the engagement nature.

We operate a flat structure and look to promote collaboration across all grades within the team; you therefore will have coaching and support from some of our most senior and experienced staff.
Description of the Role- Advising clients on the application of new and existing accounting standards, such as IFRS and UK GAAP (FRS101/FRS 102/UK Companies Act 2006).
- Assessing the impact of recently adopted accounting standards (primarily IFRS 9, IFRS 10, IFRS 11, IFRS 15 and IFRS 16).
- Supporting transaction teams with IFRS 3 analysis and model reviews with relevant accounting frameworks.
- Providing accounting support to identify the implications of business reorganisation plans.
- Working with other teams within KPMG, such as deal advisory/tax, to provide technical accounting support on cross-functional engagements (e.g., due diligence).
- Developing and delivering workshops and accounting training to clients and internal KPMG teams.
- Helping to grow our business through building and maintaining strong relationships with both clients and KPMG individuals.
- Contributing to practice and risk management, including thought leadership and business development activities.

The Person
Experience and Knowledge Requirements
- Experience working within an accounting advisory function of a professional services firm / corporate business sector. (D)
- Detailed knowledge and experience of IFRS 9, 15 and 16, UK GAAP (FRS 101/102), and Companies Act. (D)
- Knowledge and experience of US GAAP. (D)
- Experience of developing and presenting accounting training courses. (D)
- Experience of managing teams, coaching and mentoring junior staff. (D)
- Proven track record of managing and delivering high quality, complex projects with stakeholder deliverables. (D)
- Business development experience with new and existing clients. (D)
