About Us
The University of East London Library, Archives and Learning Services directorate is seeking to appoint an Assistant Librarian to work closely with the Scholarly Communications Manager to support the delivery of high-quality Open Access services. About the Job
A member of the Content and Digital Environments team, you will be responsible for administering UEL’s Research Repository for research outputs, ensuring compliance with deadlines and with copyright and publisher requirements. You will provide training and assistance on Open Access, support compliance with UEL’s open access policy and external policies, playing a key role in preparation for the next Research Excellence Framework (REF).
Additionally, you will:
- Promote the repository service to the University community, working with the Scholarly Communications Manager, Academic Services Librarians, and Research Excellence team to ensure appropriate awareness of open access requirements across UEL.
- Support the development of repository functionality, including contributing to the development of the current research information system (CRIS).
- Be responsible for administration and record keeping related to article processing charges e.g. processing invoices, and producing regular reports on expenditure.
About You
You will be able to demonstrate your understanding of Open Access principles and possess an awareness of the wider scholarly publishing environment. You will be able to work independently and as part of a team, and will be committed to providing excellent customer service, using your presentation, advocacy, and digital skills, to provide support to a diverse community.
