The Opportunity
:

We are currently recruiting an Assistant Librarian to assist with the development, delivery and maintenance of Library Services for the University. You will ensure Library collections are accessible, appropriately procured, suitable for the needs of our programmes, and regularly updated.

You will also develop guidance and deliver training to help students make the best possible use of the Library to support their studies. Working as part of a wider team of Assistant Librarians delivering core Library Services and specialise in supporting one of Arden’s academic Schools/subject areas.

About You:

We would like to hear from applicants who have experience working within a library team in either Higher Education or private practice. You will have demonstrable experience working with library management systems, discovery tools, or online library procurement tools; together with knowledge of the range of information sources used in an academic environment, experience of working with bibliographic data, and of supporting library users.

Experience of devising and delivering user training is essential. Communication skills and understanding of student needs will be vital in this role, particularly your ability to articulate key information in easily accessible ways. You will have a degree, along with a postgraduate qualification in Librarianship or Information Science, or a proven track record of relevant work experience and evidence of continuing professional development.
