Job description
Located close to the beautiful city of York, we have a vacancy for an enthusiastic assistant herdsperson to help the herd manger on a day-to-day basis milking 450 high yielding Holstein cows. Fully housed all year round the herd is milked 3x day averaging 12000kg with milk sold on an Arla contract. With very modern facilities and a new rotary milking parlour we can offer a great environment to work in with responsibility, progression and on going personal development.
The role would entail all aspects of herd health and welfare, milking, AI and foot trimming, and being responsible for the unit on weekends on. An excellent remuneration package will be tailored to suit the successful candidate but will include above average salary, regular time off and accommodation if required.
