An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated, well organised, committed individual to join the Trauma and Orthopaedic Management Team. This role will be based in Cheltenham General Hospital but will involve working across both sites.

The successful applicant will provide an effective support service for a designated group of Managers, consultants and their patients, you will need to have excellent communication skills and be able to meet targets and deadlines. You will need to be able to work under pressure whilst making decisions for the service. You will ensure efficient and effective cover for all T&O Theatres & Clinics across all sites including the community, looking at capacity and waiting times and flexing these to suit the service. Excellent RTT knowledge will be required with an extensive knowledge of Orthopaedic pathways. You will also have responsibility for overseeing both Admissions teams across both sites.
Trauma & Orthopaedics is a large specialty with 28 Consultant Surgeons who between them operate on emergency (Trauma) and elective (Orthopaedic) patients at Gloucestershire Royal and Cheltenham General Hospitals.
The successful candidate will join a highly-motivated and hard-working Team. We are looking for an individual who is able to work independently and as part of a team.
This Assistant General Manager role will support both the Deputy & General Manager within T&O
The post holder will have operational responsibility for the smooth running of defined areas on a day to day basis, and for the delivery of specific projects within the Trauma & Orthopaedic Division. The priorities will be to achieve the current waiting times within the trust, deliver patient care and help to deliver the trusts Financial Recovery Programme
Accountable to the Deputy General Manager for the service delivery of Trauma and Orthopaedic waiting times from GP referral to discharge ensuring full utilisation of Theatre lists and Outpatient clinics within the Department.
Excellent RTT knowledge and experience of working within Trauma & Orthopaedics is required
