Who are we looking for?
Working in a team, interacting with other parts of UKAEA and being part of a world leading organisation. As Assistant Financial Accountant (Treasury) you will be managing the day to day operation of UKAEA’s Treasury and carrying out a range of financial accounting activities. You will need previous experience of working in a finance department. You should have a high attention to detail with excellent communication and time management skills.
What will you be responsible for?
The role of the Assistant Financial Accountant (Treasury) is to manage the day to day operation of UKAEA’s Treasury and carry out a range of financial accounting activities.
Key duties include:
- Processing payments and receipts and daily funding.
- Bank reconciliations and assisting with cash flow monitoring and forecasting.
- Assisting with maintaining the fixed asset register and with VAT and Construction Industry Returns.
- Providing cover for the monthly payroll reconciliations and associated journals and reallocations.
- Financial administration of UKAEA’s Cyclescheme for employees.
- Carrying out monthly and quarterly financial accounts tasks including posting journals and preparing balance sheet reconciliations.
- Assisting with Audits and UKAEA’s statutory year end Accounts.
Essential skills, experience and competence required
- Full or part qualified AAT or similar.
- Experience of using an accounting ERP system (Oracle, SAP, U4BW).
- Strong time management skills including the ability to prioritise the workload.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and customer focus.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to work as a team player & under their own initiative.
- Intermediate Excel (basic formulas, vlookups, pivot tables etc.).
- Flexibility.
- Treasury Experience.
- Financial Accounting Experience.
