Role Purpose:
Support the monthly financial control activities, management and statutory reporting, taxation and audit.
Responsibilities:
Management Accounts
- Preparing general ledger journals including fee income recognition under the EIR method
- Preparing monthly management accounts and divisional reports
- Balance Sheet reconciliations, including suspense account management
- Actual vs Budget variance analysis
Other responsibilities
- Assisting in preparation of tax requirements including quarterly VAT returns and annual corporation tax returns
- Supporting the annual Statutory Accounts process
- Assisting internal and external auditors with queries
- Daily bank reconciliations including resolving unreconciled transactions
- Ad hoc MI reporting
- Aiding the Finance Manager and Financial Controller with system innovation
Skills and Experience sought:
- Experience in Financial Control or Management reporting preferable
- Studying towards an accounting certification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA etc)
- Excellent numeracy skills
- Good communication skills
- Problem solving skills
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to work calmly under pressure
- Ability to work independently but also as part of a team
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills
