Who Are We?

We are the National Ice Centre & Motorpoint Arena, Nottingham.


The largest entertainment venue in the East Midlands with 2 Olympic sized ice pads, one of which converts to become an arena with a crowd capacity of 10,000.


At our venue we showcase the biggest names in music, comedy, entertainment, and sport. We host over 100 events and welcome 800,000+ visitors through our doors each year.


We are also home to the Nottingham Panthers Ice Hockey Team, who play 30+ home league & cups games each season.


In addition, we are the head office for National Catering and National Merchandise who offer event and venue services across the UK and Ireland, including London, Dublin, Belfast, Liverpool, Nottingham, Birmingham, Coventry, and Glasgow.

£22 – 27K salary

25 days annual leave (excluding bank holidays)

Who Are We Looking For?

Assistant Facilities & Events Manager


Our Assistant Facilities & Events Manager will be responsible for managing the conversion from an Ice Rink to an Arena and vice versa. They will lead the team through the conversion ensuring that our venue is returned to a high standard for normal daily operations or the next visiting event.


Managing the in-house operations, our Assistant Facilities & Events Manager will be responsible for overseeing load-in’s, completing the specific requirements outlined by the visiting production or Event Manager, ensuring all requests are dealt with in a timely manner. Following event summaries and floorplans for seating and arena layouts.


The role is covered by several people who will undertake slightly different levels of responsibility. Which could also cover;

  • Manage a team of Facilities Team Leaders
  • Undertake operational and administrative tasks associated with the event and all activities in the effective delivery of the event rider.
  • Produce monthly rotas in line with requirements and budgets.
  • Act as a designated role within the venue’s Emergency Plan on event nights, overseeing both front of house, incoming event productions during load in,

and back of house areas.

  • Produce and review Risk Assessments (including COSHH) and Standard Working Practices
  • Take ownership of allocated events through the full journey of the event, Ensure good relationships with event promoter representatives and touring crew during event periods.
  • They will be experienced in managing a successful, diverse team in a fast-paced environment and operating and maintaining equipment and machinery.
  • Ideally they will have experience of using CAD software, or equivalent, with the ability to interpret technical plans and layouts.
  • With excellent communication skills, they will work hard to exceed our customers expectations.
  • Physically fit and able to undertake manual work, they will have the ability to work flexibly to meet the needs of the business which will include nights, overnights, weekends and bank holidays.
