Job description
Were currently recruiting a dedicated Event Planner to plan many of our unique corporate events which include Conference Centre meetings, outdoor BBQs, and evening dinners/parties.
The role is based at Imperial War Museum Duxford (just outside of Cambridge - CB22 4QR) and is permanent / full time. Office hours are mostly Mon-Fri, with the larger events requiring you to briefly attend to ensure the operations team are set up correctly and to your spec.

Main Responsibilities:
- The primary objective of the role is to provide an effective liaison between the sales team, ops team, and kitchen, while being primary contact for the client, museum and suppliers.
- This will be through effective administration, communication and customer service techniques.
- This role is required to detail and upsell all bookings when they have been confirmed by the sales team.
- The role is required to diary manage bookings
- The role is required to handle all internal bookings
- The role will have the responsibility of venue show-rounds and menu tastings with the Event Operations Manager.
- A further critical purpose is to ensure all billing is correct in the system and that events are duly paid prior to arrival.
- To ensure all sales administration is accomplished effectively and accurately in order to provide a seamless handover to the operations team.
Key Responsibilities:
- To be the owner of the BEO process on venue and accurately and efficiently complete for all of your events.
- To ensure a regular liaison plan is in place with relevant proactive, reactive sales and operational team members.
- To deal with and action all correspondence received via email or telephone.
- To ensure that all relevant information is inputted correctly and accurately within the event management software used
- To be polite, professional and friendly always with customers, clients and colleagues
- To demonstrate a can-do attitude towards individual customer requests and strive to exceed customer expectations.
- To maximise all sales opportunities / leads to support in achieving revenue targets.
- To acquire a good knowledge of all products and services offered by the venue in order to be able to advise individual customers.
- To actively gain customer feedback, passing information gained, on to relevant people.
- To conduct customer show rounds and menu tastings
- To always promote venues facilities and maintain a positive company image
