The Assistant Editor will write for Refinitiv’s Eikon platform and IFR Magazine. Breaking news on the fixed-income market and providing value-added, insightful commentary on the main themes and trends. Plus, writing analysis for Refinitiv's brands, including real-time services and publications. Depending on the successful candidate's management experience, the role could also include broader management and editorial responsibilities, together with the reporting duties.

They must have strong people and communication skills, be comfortable talking to senior bankers in the bond market and be able to work independently to develop strong relationships and liaise across teams within the wider editorial group on cross asset and cross-border stories.

Main Responsibilities:
- Deliver insightful coverage of the EMEA bond market, and provide leadership and guidance for the other bond reporters in the team, directing content
- Edit stories
- Proactive approach to generating stories written for clients
- Ensuring a daily flow of information on new deals, pricing, terms and themes is covered in an efficient and timely fashion across the products
- Breaking news on IFR’s real-time services and Refinitiv’s Eikon platform
- Exercise sound news judgment on what moves markets and why
- Establish and maintain close contact with those working for European and US banks, issuers and investors.
- Work effectively with colleagues in our other IFR bond desks, as well as with colleagues covering other asset classes
Essential Skills
- Experience of reporting and research/market experience covering or working in the credit markets
- Excellent writing and analytical skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines
- Solid organisational, communication and interpersonal skills
- Track record of breaking news
- General knowledge of financial markets and investment banking
