Here at the South Mayoral Combined Authority, we are looking for an Assistant Director – Financial Services. Reporting into the Executive Director Resources and Investment you will work alongside the Assistant Director of Strategic Finance who is responsible for strategic planning, change, and relationship management with external partners and group companies.
This role is a critical part of the Authority’s Finance leadership team, leading the Finance Business Partner and Financial Controls teams. The role will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the Authority’s financial affairs, maintaining robust internal controls, delivering efficient transactional management, and ensuring the maintenance of core financial systems and technical finance services.
As an Assistant Director – Financial Services you will oversee the provision of quality financial monitoring, reporting, planning, and advice and play a critical role in budgeting processes. The role will lead the teams responsible to produce the statutory accounts and external audit process and support the management of the outsourced internal audit function.

We are looking for someone who will join and compliment our organisation by taking our dedicated Finance Team forward. The Assistant Director, Financial Services will have worked in a similar level role either operating at Head of Function or Assistant Director level and come with a wealth of experience of working in several senior Finance leadership roles.
You will have exceptional people leadership skills and be able to manage our hardworking teams through change. The selected individual will come with a membership qualification, be able to face into our leadership teams and have a clear direction and vision as to how to lead our Finance Teams through the business going forward.
