Job description
Position: Assistant Accountant
To provide Credit Control and general Accounts Administrative support for Chemex International.
You will be responsible for chasing outstanding invoices and ensure that credit given to customers is monitored and controlled effectively. You will also be supporting the Finance function across other areas.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Credit Control and Accounts Administration
· Customer account reconciliations
· Chasing for payments
· To recover the targeted amount of debt according to pre-set KPI's
· Setting up new customer accounts including assessing their credit worthiness
· Dealing with customers
· Recording and resolving customer queries
· Inputting of invoices onto the system
· Updating weekly analysis reports
· Working autonomously (at times) on accounts in your jurisdiction
· Building relationships with key account holders and arranging payment plans
· Filing/housekeeping.
· Sending out statements
· General administration to help the team.
· General enquiries/ emails from external and internal contacts
RESPONSIBILITY FOR HEALTH AND SAFETY
Through a combination of Company training and self-education, to know of hazardous information for products being sold and to advise customers to read and follow information contained in Material Data Sheets and in Product Data.
To bring to the attention of a customer’s Safety Officer or Management any dangerous practices or potential risks which may be observed in the course of customer visits.

Specific training in relation to these responsibilities will be provided as required.
RESPONSIBILITY FOR QUALITY
To report to Chemex International Ltd any complaint discovered.
To only give advice which is documented or is known to the Job Holder.
To relay accurately details of orders given by customers.
